Sparring

Sparring is a method of karate practice in which the student learns moves and improves technique. All that is needed is a mat and a partner. Partners face each other, bow and begin. Sometimes a teacher watches and provides constructive in put. The actual sparring can be with either an opponent of equal or greater talent,or it can even be with a sensei.

Sparring Tools

Sparring and karate practice equipment comes in the form of everything from mats,to shields,targets and blockers. Equipment allows the student to have workouts both by himself or with another. Partners can help with in put,technique and form.

Targets

Targets are used in karate practice for kicking and punching. Usually they are made of leather or vinyl. Some are reinforced with nylon. Other have unique patterns like camouflage or are bright colors like red. Prices vary and can start as low as 14.99.
