The Easy Feng Shui Guide

Southwest is the direction to focus on when improvement in love is desired. Earth is the element.

1.) The most important first step to realizing the benefits of Feng Shui is to perform a Space Clearing procedure. Every environment has accumulated negative energy, or "sha chi", that needs to be eliminated.

2) Choose calming, neutral colors such as taupe, beige, or pale rose for the bedroom.

3) Do not place your bed beneath a window. According to Feng Shui principles, this will cause feelings of vulnerability and lack of support within the relationship. If this bed placement is unavoidable, then place a screen between the head of the bed and the window.

4) Do not locate your bed on the same wall as the door. This can lead to disagreements. Also do not locate your bed so that it faces a bathroom, or so that a toilet is in view from the bed. Consider placing a screen between your bed and the offensive element. Also be sure to keep the bathroom door closed at all times.

5) Never locate your bed on a wall with a toilet on the other side. This can cause an energy drain that can lead to assorted physical ailments.

6) It is best to sleep in a bed that only you and your partner have shared. If buying a new mattress is impractical, at least be sure to buy new linens. Performing a space clearing procedure in the bedroom would also be a wise decision.

7) Do not use the space under the bed for storage. Keep it clean and clear so that chi or energy can flow freely around the bed.

8) Place an amethyst crystal or a faceted crystal ball beneath the foot of your bed. These objects are said to enhance unity within the couple.

9) The bedroom is the perfect location to make use of the power of Rose Quartz. This stone energizes feelings of love and nurturing and will help to enhance the bond between you and your mate.

10) Lighting pairs of red or pink candles in the southwest sector is a great way to enhance the energy in this area. Candles are also atmospheric, romantic and help to create an intimate atmosphere.

11) Placing a beautiful, brass Wu Lu gourd in the bedroom, especially near the bed on a bedside table is a powerful way to symbolize longevity and harmony in the relationship. The double gourd shape is thought to represent male and female energy.

12) Place a pair of red, pink or lavender candles or a pair of earth element candles in the south west area of your bedroom to symbolize you and your mate. Light them often as a wonderful way to heighten the energy and create a sensual and intimate environment.

13) Do not place a mirror across from, or over, the bed. Mirrors in these locations divide the couple and can also cause insomnia.

14) Keep decor simple and be sure that both members of the couple have a say in how the room is decorated. The environment should be serene and relaxing. As with other sectors of the home, be careful to avoid clutter, especially on the bedside tables.

15) Choose artwork that inspires romance. Avoid art that contains images of water, which is considered too yang for the bedroom. Images of pairs of birds or two flowers are great love enhancers.

16) Move photos of other family members to a more appropriate room. Display a photo of the two of you together that inspires happy and loving memories.

17) A pair of Mandarin ducks or love birds is considered to be a powerful symbol of a long lasting relationship, since these birds mate for life.

18) Place a beautiful pair of vases in the bedroom to symbolize the two of you and to collect positive energy.

19) Keep T.V. out of the bedroom. If this is impossible, store the television within a cabinet and keep it closed when not in use, and also while you sleep. If a cabinet isn't possible, then drape the T.V. with a cloth cover when not in use. The bedroom is also not the place for exercise equipment. The same is true for desks, computers, and books related to work.

20) Place a rose quartz crystal in the southwest area of your bedroom. Also place other mementos in a box or bowl in this area to energize the connection between you and your significant other.

21) If you have concerns that your mate is straying outside the relationship, place a beautiful conch shell in the bedroom to protect your union.

22) If there is money stress in the relationship, place rice in a beautiful bowl with several amethyst crystals.
