Wizardry And Witchcraft

Much about the mind remains a mystery even with the enormous leaps and bounds knowledge is making in this new century. From the 1400s to the 1700s, some scholars regard wizardry and witchcraft as an extremely old system of organized religious worship. It can be traced back to pre Christian times in many parts of Europe. A wizard is a person who is believed to receive powers from spirits.

Traditional Beliefs

In the traditional belief, not only of the dark ages, but of post Reformation times, the wizards addicted to such practices entered into a compact with Satan, adjured Christ and the Sacraments, performing infernal rites which often took the shape of a parody of the Mass or the offices of the Church and paid Divine honor to the Prince of Darkness, and in return received from him preternatural powers, such as those of riding through the air on a broomstick, assuming different shapes at will, and tormenting their chosen victims, while a spirit was placed at their disposal, able and willing to perform any service that might be needed to further their nefarious purposes. Repeat after me, these are myths, when man is able to allow his Higher Consciousness to flow freely into his conscious thoughts he will experience the beauty of harmony in his life.

Magic, Wizards and Witchcraft

It is not easy to draw a clear distinction between magic, wizards and witchcraft. Both are concerned with the producing of effects beyond the natural powers of man by agencies other than the Divine. But as commonly understood, there is involved the idea of a diabolical pact or at least an appeal to the intervention of the spirits.
